Every backyard is different. Every family has different needs. Whether you’re working with a compact city lot or a sprawling property, TSS has a court size and configuration that’s right for you.

Why Acrylic

Start With Your Space. We'll Handle the Rest.

One of the most common questions we get is: “What size court do I need?” The honest answer is that it depends on your property, the sports you want to play, and how you plan to use the space over time.

That’s why we offer four size categories to help you orient yourself, along with custom options for properties that don’t fit a standard mould. Each size tier comes with its own typical sports, typical dimensions, and a realistic budget range to help you plan with confidence.

Not sure where you land? That’s what our consultation process is for. We’ll assess your space, talk through your goals, and help you find the configuration that makes the most sense for your family.

All budgets shown include the concrete base and may vary based on location, complexity, and the accessories you choose.

Things to Know Before You Plan

A Few Things Worth Knowing

The concrete base is included.

All budget ranges shown across our size tiers include the concrete base preparation. This is a meaningful part of the total investment, and we don’t hide it in the fine print.

Budget ranges are starting points.

Final pricing depends on your location, the complexity of the project, and the accessories and surface options you choose. Our team will give you a clear, detailed estimate after seeing your space.

Ice rink conversions are popular.

Medium and large courts are particularly well-suited to winter ice rink conversions. The flat, level surface makes for excellent natural ice, and with a refrigeration system you can skate no matter the weather. Ice refrigeration systems are not included in the listed budget ranges.

Your needs will evolve.

The court you build today should still serve your family five or ten years from now. We think about that during the design phase, helping you choose a size and configuration that has room to grow with you.

Common Questions

Game Court Types & Sizes

How do I know what size backyard court is right for my property?

The honest answer is: it depends on your available space, the sports you want to play, and how you plan to use the court over time. Our four size categories — small, medium, large, and full size — are a starting point. Most clients come to us with a rough idea and leave the consultation with a clear plan. Book a free consultation and we’ll assess your space together.

Small courts start at under 1,000 square feet, which fits in many city and suburban backyards. Even a modest outdoor space can often accommodate a functional basketball or multi-sport surface. The key is understanding what your lot can realistically support, which is exactly what the consultation is for.

Yes, they do. All budget estimates on this page include the concrete base preparation, which is a meaningful part of the total project cost. We include it upfront so you can plan with realistic numbers. Final pricing will vary based on your location, project complexity, and any accessories you add.

Medium courts, in the 1,000 to 2,000 square foot range, are the most popular size we build. They open up the full range of backyard sports, work well for winter ice rink conversions, and strike a good balance between versatility and cost. If you’re not sure where to start, a medium court is usually the right conversation to have first.

Yes, and it’s a popular upgrade. The flat, level surface of a backyard court makes an excellent base for a natural ice rink. Medium and large courts are particularly well-suited to ice rink conversions. Refrigeration systems for year-round skating are also available but are not included in the standard court budget ranges.

That’s what custom courts are for. We design and build courts around pools, garages, slopes, setback requirements, and property lines that don’t cooperate with standard configurations. If your property is unusual, talk to us! Unusual is something we’ve seen before.

Yes. Multi-sport and multi-game courts are one of our most requested configurations. We design courts that combine basketball, pickleball, volleyball, badminton, and ball hockey into a single well-thought-out layout. The goal is to get full use from your space without compromising any single sport.

Timing can vary depending on the season, site conditions, and your location. If you’re hoping to be playing by a certain date, mention that during your consultation and we’ll work backward from there.
