It’s evident that the past year has been difficult for many. The pandemic had affected so many different aspects of our lives and effected both our physical and mental health. Now, with lockdown regulations being lifted, and the weather getting better and better, it’s important to begin attending to our physical and mental health again! - Going for a walk/run. With many people working from home now-a-days, it is important to get some fresh air and exercise our muscles. Find a friend and go on a run, walk or hike together! You don’t need to complete half a marathon, just 30 minutes walking your dog around your neighbourhood will have a major positive impact on both your physical and mental health.
- Yoga. Yoga has proven to be an excellent way to connect the mind and body. Most of us have been sitting in our homes for over a year now, therefore it is crucial to stretch and tone our muscles. While stretching and working on your flexibility, you can clear your mind of any stressors or problems you may be facing, and relax for a moment. All you need is a matt and some ocean waves sounds and you’re ready to go!
- Dance. This is probably one of the easiest options you have! Just put on some of your favourite songs and have a dance party in your room. Dance is a form of creative expression and it’s a great way to relieve any tension in your body and free you mind from daily struggles. Pick your favourite playlist and dance it out – you won’t believe how cathartic it is!
- YouTube Workout. If you would like to push yourself a little further and complete a full workout, you can check out some awesome YouTube trainers that will have you sweating and sore after just 30 minutes. Find some space in your room and grab your computer! There are numerous workout routines and exercises available online, so you’ll have plenty to choose from. It’s a great way to stay active in the comfort of your own home!
